Other Supplies You'll Need

Air-dry clay
Glue gun
LED tea light candles
Clay working supplies:
- Metal shape cutouts
- Pattern rollers
- Wheel cutter
- Rolling pin
- Wax paper
- Corn starch

Use metal shape cutouts to create windows and doors. Peel away excess clay around the house shape and pull out cut out window shapes inside. Drag a wet toothpick along edges of house and windows to make smoother line. Leave the house on wax paper and let it dry overnight.

Next, take one of your tealight candles an press it into the center to create an indented circle. The clay will shrink a bit when drying, so press your fingers into the clay to widen the circle shape and press the bottom flat. Allor to dry overnight.

Once all pieces are dry and free of dust and corn starch, spray houses and candle holders with Krylon colors of your choosing, front and back. Allow to dry and spray everything again with Krylon Triple-Thick Clear Glaze- this will give your houses a more authentic glazed clay look and help protect the houses from scuffs and chips. Allow to dry.

Using a hot glue gun, glue the tealight holder to the back of the house. This will give your house a way to stand up on its own and the light of the candle will glow out of the windows. It’s important to glue these two pieces after you spray them. The spray seals the clay and gives the glue a more solid surface to cling to.
