Sandpaper for metal (wet/dry) 220, 320 and 400 Grit
Large plastic tub with water

New hardware - casters, caps, nuts and bolts

Step 1
Disassemble the cart and place all of the small pieces in a container with a lid.
Step 2
Sand the cart with the wet/dry 220 Grit sandpaper by placing part of the cart into the tub of water.
Step 3
Dip the sandpaper into the water and sand, dipping as needed to wipe away residue and clean the paint from the sandpaper. Repeat with 320 grit.
Step 4
Dry the metal pieces with a towel and then wipe down again with a paper towel and mineral spirits.
Step 5
Allow to dry.
Step 6
Using a tack cloth remove any dust particles. Spray all surfaces with primer. Allow to dry.
Step 7
Spray the handle and other parts of the frame with Rust Protector™ Black Metallic.
Step 8
Spray the shelves of the cart with Rust Protector™ Cherry Red.
Step 9
Let the paint harden for 72 hours or according to the can instructions before reassembling or stenciling.
Step 10
To stencil the top shelf, place a vinyl cut out or other stencil where desired, adhere to the shelf and spray with a light coat.
Success Tip:
(Note: If using vinyl or other sticky back stencil, before adhering it to the shelf surface, place the stencil on your pants or shirt and remove a few times to make the vinyl less sticky)

Allow the paint to dry several minutes and then remove the stencil Assemble the cart.
